We would like to invite you to the next 2024 meeting organized in cooperation: Polish Transhumanist Association and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technology.
This month's meeting titled "The Limits of Humanity. Around Dukaj and transhumanism" is hosted by Dr. Lukasz Kucharczyk, Assistant Professor in the Department of Polish Contemporary Literature and Literary Criticism at UKSW. We will talk about Polish SF literature and in particular about the works of Jacek Dukaj, who is the subject of the speaker's latest book "Granice ludzania poznania. On selected aspects of Jacek Dukaj's works". Lukasz is also the author of the book "Boundaries of the Body. Somapoetics in the works of Stanislaw Lem" and a collection of short stories "Grants and Dragons".
D. in humanities, assistant professor in the Department of Polish Contemporary Literature and Literary Criticism at UKSW . Author of a scholarly monograph entitled. "The Limits of the Body. Somapoetics in the works of Stanisław Lem", monograph "Boundaries of human cognition. On Selected Aspects of the Works of Jacek Dukaj," as well as dozens of scholarly and critical literary articles treating contemporary Polish literature. He teaches classes on Polish contemporary literature, literary criticism, fantasy and science ficton literature and methodology of teaching Polish as a foreign language. Contributor to several literary magazines, including "Nowe Książki", "Nowy Napis" and "Topos" . Juror in literary competitions. His research work includes Polish science fiction, fantasy literature and Polish literary criticism. He also works as a teacher of Polish as a foreign language. In 2022 he made his debut as a writer with a collection of fantasy short stories entitled Grants and Dragons. He publishes his short stories in anthologies and magazines. Winner of the Chrysalis Award of the European Association of Science Ficton for the most promising debuts, nominated for Slaskfa 2023 in the category of Creator of the Year, nominated for the Janusz Zajdel Award of Polish Fandom.
