Candidates

Persons applying for the degree of Doctor of Fine Arts at the Faculty of New Media Arts PJAIT may submit their applications to the Dean of the Faculty dr hab. Ewa Satalecka - ewasatalecka@pja.edu.pl; tel. 22 58 44 548 Secretariat of the Dean NeMA.


The application must be accompanied by:

  • A proposal for the topic and concept for the doctoral dissertation, indicating the area of knowledge, field of art and artistic discipline [Area of art, field of art: fine arts; artistic discipline: fine arts] (Regulation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of August 8, 2011 on the areas of knowledge, fields of science and art, and scientific and artistic disciplines) in which the doctoral dissertation is to be opened and the additional discipline to be passed in the doctoral examinations;
  • A copy of the document confirming the possession of a master's degree;
  • a proposal for a person to act as a Supervisor, and in justified cases - such as the need to assign a Supervisor to assist in the scientific and artistic care of the candidate - also a proposal for a person to act as an assistant Supervisor;
  • a list of artistic achievements (individual and collective exhibitions, plein-air events, workshops, competitions, a list of state decorations, awards, prizes, distinctions, badges, medals, etc.) with a record of artistic works appropriate to the type of work and documentation of their public presentation [reproductions of artistic works (prints, digital record), catalogs of individual exhibitions (photocopies or selected originals), programs of selected artistic and didactic projects, reviews of works, including press reviews, etc.]. as well as information on art popularization activities;
  • information on the course of the doctoral program, if the candidate has previously applied for a doctoral degree;
  • A copy of the 1st and 2nd pages of the ID card;
  • A personal questionnaire with a photograph;
  • a professional or artistic career (portfolio) confirmed by the employer;
  • A certificate of employment and a record of professional work with the employer covering the cable (not applicable to employees PJAIT);
  • declaration of the university, the institution employing the candidate or the candidate himself to cover the costs of the conductor (not applicable to employees PJAIT);
  • The candidate is additionally required to prepare a short presentation of his achievements in electronic version (up to 20 MB, to be sent electronically to members of the Faculty Council);
  • if you have a certificate of knowledge of a modern foreign language - also a copy of the certificate.

The candidate may attach to the application for the initiation of the doctoral dissertation the opinion of the person holding the title of professor or the degree of doctor habilitated, as well as the consent of the candidate for the suopervisor to assume this function and his opinion on the initiation of the dissertation (along with his statement that he is familiar with the concept of the dissertation and all the dissertation documentation submitted by the candidate), and in the case of participation in the dissertation of an assistant Supervisor - also his written consent to assume this function.

The candidate may also apply for permission from the Faculty Council to present the dissertation in a language other than Polish.

The application with the above-mentioned documents should be submitted in a binder (the different parts of the documentation should be clearly separated).

The application and its attachments must also be submitted electronically.

Documentation submitted by the candidate (application + attachments) must be authenticated by his/her own signature.
Information should be provided in thematic and chronological order. Documents submitted prior to the initiation of the conduit may not be corrected, supplemented, etc.

Faculty of New Media Arts PJAIT offers Candidates preparatory courses and workshops, conducted in the form of conventions by an international staff of lecturers and experts 1x a month Friday afternoon - Saturday - Sunday until noon, in the number of 10 meetings per semester.
The aim of the course is to introduce the methodology of research and develop the ability to write a theoretical paper at an international level.
