On January 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., we cordially invite you to the Medium Gallery (Main Hall, Building A) for the opening of the international research project Concepts / Concepts. This project explores the interpretation of concepts at the intersection of written language, visual language and artificial intelligence, focusing on individual relationships in understanding these concepts and their transformation into visual language. At the heart of the project is the question of whether conceptual representations can provide a common, universal area for understanding reality, or whether they remain mere subjective adaptations. Nearly 300 students from 22 universities from Japan, France, Iran, Turkey, Taiwan, Hungary, Ukraine, Poland and the US participated in the project over its one-year duration.
Each participant was tasked with selecting a concept and providing an interpretation of it using his or her own description, a selection of closely related words, and a static and dynamic image (video). An interesting aspect of the project is the use of AI technology; participants provided descriptions for the selected concepts, based on which AI images were generated as comparative material with the author's creations.
The exhibition presents a selection of static works (graphics), videos and images generated by artificial intelligence, thus revealing the diversity and complexity of the perception of concepts in a global context.
