1. Could you share some insights into the unique features of the MBA program at PJAIT that set it apart from other MBA programs?
The MBA program at PJAIT stood out for its focus on developing leadership skills in the context of technology companies – product management, often R&D-type, and working with people who very often require a unique, individual approach. This allowed me to deepen my knowledge of effective team management in this type of organization, as well as the organized development of innovative products,
In my case, it was also important that the program was completed within one year rather than two, as is the case with many other similar programs that are not oriented towards specific industries – due to this approach, I felt a truly high density of knowledge during each class module, while also being shown clear paths for further expanding it,
The program also offered an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and observe outstanding individuals from the IT industry (or industries close to IT) who built products and understood problems in global organizations, often bearing responsibility for those organizations' success.
2. Could you provide specific examples of which aspects of the curriculum were particularly valuable for your professional development?
Certainly, one of the most valuable aspects was the practical classes in the area of data analysis and decision-making based on it. This helped to better understand the strategic approach in my industry, look at the organization's architecture from other perspectives, and more completely map the multilevel connections between the organizations we cooperate with,
The program encouraged the development of interpersonal skills, conflict management, negotiation, and a general understanding of others, which significantly improved my ability to work effectively with my team and collaborate with other teams or business partners.
3. What were your experiences with teamwork and collaborating with your peers during the MBA studies?
Teamwork was an important element of the program, helping to understand how to communicate effectively and resolve conflicts when working with various people – a particularly interesting perspective given the broad experience and perspectives of the other team members – after all, these were teams composed of leaders and management staff from various industries,
Classmates were not only a source of truly interesting discussions, but also valuable consultants in terms of developing current projects, both private and corporate, as well as planning professional careers or positioning oneself on the job market.
4. How do you assess the quality of the classes in the context of the MBA program for the IT industry?
The instructors had extensive industry experience, which meant we had access to real-life case studies, highly up-to-date and practical advice from professionals, and sometimes even forward-looking guidance on problems that we might face in the future,
The program was flexible and adapted to the changing needs of the industry, allowing us to stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the field of computer science [AI, I think, deserves an honorable mention in many contexts],
In many cases, classes ended subjectively much too soon, leaving me and – if I may boldly assume – not only me with the feeling of "we want more," "is that really it? – I have so many ideas and topics to discuss after what I heard!" – which I think serves as the best possible testimony to the quality of the classes.
5. How do you evaluate the value of your studies as an investment? Do you believe the expenditure on education will pay off in terms of professional or personal benefits, and if so, how?
I believe that the investment in MBA studies will pay off for me in the form of further professional promotions and subsequent career development opportunities. (The investment has already paid off, perhaps not spectacularly, but only due to the fact that at the time the program started, I significantly expanded my area of responsibility in the organization where I work – another spectacular change is bound to happen soon :) The program also provided me with tools for self-development and building skills that are crucial not only at work, but also in personal life.
