Study program
Program Assumptions
The study program is based on a workshop format and focuses on acquiring practical skills in visual communication and graphic design. The classes will provide practical knowledge in the use of computer programs and tools, necessary in the work of a designer and graphic design computer designer. The program includes the study of digital drawing (on a tablet), typesetting, the basics of digital photography, web design and applications aimed at the user/specific user, the client. Students will learn about the possibilities of creating AI graphics and understand the principles of visual communication systems.
Organization of activities
The studies last two semesters and include sixteen full-time sessions (184 hrs in total). Classes are held during 8 sittings in modern computer laboratories in the building PJAIT and in a professional photographic studio in building C. Subjects end with a form of credit determined by the lecturer. A prerequisite for graduation is attendance at assemblies, receiving positive grades from passing subjects.
Class topics
Semester I
The course will present the basic grid of copyright concepts such as work, dependent rights, fields of exploitation. At the same time, the purpose of the subject is to show the applicability of copyright law in the professional practice of the students. Participants will learn what to pay attention to when concluding creative contracts, how to use fair use or defend their rights.
The goal of the course is to give students the basic knowledge needed to create concept art, and then use Photoshop software in collaboration with a graphics tablet to render that idea in detail. Methods of coloring and using a color palette will also be discussed.
The aim of the course is to present the knowledge of tools and programs for graphic design. subject assumes learning the following program: Adobe Photoshop and its application in advanced editing of raster files.During the course, the tools and functionalities of the programs are presented one by one. Exercises consist of completing tasks and then realizing individual projects using the tools learned.
The aim of the course is to present the knowledge of tools and programs used for graphic design. subject assumes learning the following Adobe Illustrator program for creating vector graphics. During the class, the tools and functionalities of the programs are presented one by one. Exercises consist of completing tasks and then realizing individual projects using the learned tools.
The purpose of the course is to learn the basics of working with text by learning how to use the Adobe InDesign graphics program. During the class, the tools and functionalities of the program are presented one by one. Exercises consist of step-by-step tasks, followed by individual projects using the tools learned.
Visual communication is the universal language of communicating with the viewer. It is the sum total of signals most often sent by brands, through which certain values are communicated. Deriving its roots from markings of ownership, status or clan, it is deeply embedded in people's collective consciousness. By consciously appealing to specific associations and acting on multiple senses, it is a universal language that breaks down cultural and cognitive barriers. The aim of this class is to learn this language and consciously use its immanent components: color, sign, letter and graphic motif, so that they form stories worth telling.
The aim of the course is to introduce the process of prototyping graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and interactions, which is one of the most important elements of Human-Centered Design (HCD) and User Experience (UX). It allows testing and evaluation of concepts for the operation and appearance of digital products such as websites, mobile applications, etc. Students will learn practical methods of working with applications/services for GUI design. Through the use of patterns and style guides for different platforms, they will learn rapid prototyping to visualize interactive design concepts at different levels of complexity.

The aim of the course is to present the knowledge related to digital photography through the implementation of practical exercises. Students will learn about the functionalities of a digital SLR camera, lightpainting technology and lighting spatial elements by using continuous light. The photometric law will be discussed. Knowledge of commercial photography will be presented.
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the general concept of artificial intelligence along with existing tools used to generate graphical content. The course will also introduce tools based on Colaboratory sheets and will also cover issues related to the correct use of prompts, copyright issues in terms of safeguarding against potential infringement of one's own work by AI.
During the course, students learn a set of rules and properties of objects that make up a web creation displayed in a web browser. Students work with a content management system like Wordpress to create a productive, responsive website, taking into account its own layout, structure and user-centered design principles. The class discusses the design and implementation of landing pages.
Meeting with managers of postgraduate programs
No one will tell you more about the studies offered by Centre for Postgraduate Studies than those who created them. We invite you to watch and listen to the interviews with the managers of the postgraduate and MBA programs (including the head of CKP Ms. Marta Godzisz), conducted by Ms. Aleksandra Szyr.
