Organizational information

Organization of activities

Students gain access to the Google Workspace platform and Microsoft Teams where materials will be shared and communication with participants will be conducted.

Teaching is supported by an instructor subject, i.e. a lecturer at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technology, who monitors the students' implementation of the material.

The presenter subject is available to students throughout the learning process, and will answer questions, both substantive and about career development in bioinformatics, through the email channel or Microsoft Teams.

Students get access to a group on Microsoft Teams designed for postgraduate students. The group is moderated in asynchronous mode by lecturers from the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw.

In each subject, postgraduate students are provided with materials in electronic form (pdf files, videos), including practical examples and project guidelines. On selected subjects, instructors may slightly change the proportions of individual elements, but, for example, materials for a 20-hour course include a minimum of: 80 A4 pages of theory and examples, 300 minutes of video material, project guidelines, synchronous and asynchronous consultations with the instructor (2x online group meetings during the course and unlimited individual consultations via email and Microsoft Teams).

Classes are conducted in Polish.

Lecture and workshop meetings

In a semester cycle, a lecture and workshop session is organized at the university's headquarters in Warsaw. The program of the session includes an in-depth analysis of the issues included in the study plan and an expansion of selected topics. It is recommended that participants come to the class with their own computers, on which they have previously completed tasks provided for in the postgraduate program.

Credit for studies

It is a prerequisite to pass all subjects specified in the program of study within the appropriate time limits.

Each semester ends with an exam, which will be held stationary at the university's headquarters in Warsaw.
